i7 950 Review
In order to quickly establish whether or not a product (such as the i7 950 processor) has promise I immediately check out the reviews it has at Amazon. I do this first and I find the reviews at Amazon.com are the most important because the USA usually has the product first and therefore has had time to buy and test the product.
So, whan I came do supply an i7 950 review, I went straight to Amazon.com to see how much the public like it. Amazon has given it a 5 star rating from 43 reviews. In fact, only one reviewer gave it less than 5 stars, and that was 4 stars.
So my next act was to check out that 4 star review and find out precisely why this individual differed from everybody else. This is his evaluation in full '

I originally was going to buy a i7-930 but got this one instead when the price was cut in HALF and it was a few bucks more than the 930. So far I'm liking this CPU. Had no problem on installation. I'm using a Corsair H50 cooling system so I can't comment on the included Heatsink/fan. The temps have been running around 36 degrees centigrade and my system hasn't got any hotter than 38c.
Now we discover why he only gave it 4 stars. It appears that he didn't make use of the included heatsink/fan and so couldn't honestly comment on that feature. But otherwise, he agrees with everyone else in that it performs well and has no installation issues. The advantageous price was the feature that finally decided him.
It must be noted here that the overwhelming belief is to use a superior specification fan cooler with the i7 950, particularly if you are going to to overclock it. Apart from that issue, it has left a positive impression with the majority of people who have used it.
The outcome of my research is that it appears obvious that the i7 950 processor is the best value for money processor of its type available at present. Yes, obviously there are faster ones that are available but the additional cost involved with these makes them economically unviable.
